Essential Programs to Coach and Empower

Essential Programs to Coach and Empower addresses an urgent need to embrace caregivers’ innate strengths and capacity to thrive while raising children with hearing loss and prepares caregivers emotionally for their journey to raise their children. It is based on eighteen years of international training, positive psychology, and supports given to parents in low resource communities in several countries.

Helping a child learn and communicate at home, becoming informed in hearing health practices, and working in communities and schools to promote inclusive communication and learning, Essential Programs to Coach and Empower engages caregivers in activities that embrace challenge with positivity: hope in despair, joy in a difficult journey, acceptance of their child regardless of community stigma. The program empowers caregivers through five domains of well-being. Practical and interactive workshops foster parent potential and build capacity in distinct ways.

Joanne Travers, founder and director of PGV, collaborates with service providers, universities, schools, parent organizations, family-centered practices, and community-based organizations serving caregivers of children with hearing loss to coordinate training and interactive workshops that meets their unique needs. Full and half day sessions are available to both practitioners as well as with families of children with hearing loss.  Contact us to inquire.
