Creating vision through opportunity and experience.
Click here for details about our recent missions.
Creating successful learning experiences for deaf and hard of hearing children requires that the child’s own community and family understand the day-to-day challenges and needs of these children.
Our education initiatives help parents and professionals expand their understanding and vision of what is possible, and build skills in auditory development. Through training and education programs, we foster sustainable projects that help the process for a lifetime of listening and learning.
Visits are made to targeted communities to assess an interest in auditory learning and/or determine priority needs of parents and teachers who are vested in helping a deaf child learn to listen and speak. Since 2002, Partners for A Greater Voice has learned about the tremendous needs of families and young children living with a hearing loss in several parts of the Dominican Republic: Santo Domingo, Boca Chica, San Pedro de Macoris. In 2006, Greater Voice traveled to India to learn about programs and services in Mumbai and Pune. Understanding the needs and interests of a community helps us determine how to follow up and what educational initiatives we need to focus on.
